Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) is determined by the level of air pollution.
IAQ is a fundamental feature of any building, especially swimming pools. That unwanted "smell of chlorine" that sometimes irritates your nose and throat in swimming pools is caused by trichloramine (NCI3), also known as nitrogen chloride or trichloride. It is the product of a reaction of chlorine with the urea in saliva or sweat. In addition to irritating the eyes and airways, trichloramine is the leading cause of occupational illnesses such as rhinitis and asthma among pool staff. IAQ is therefore a real challenge for such facilities.
